Book Corner facility Launched for readers at Chitar Oli Metro Station
A big news there for book lovers! The Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation has recently launched a fabulous initiative called the ‘Book Corner’ at Chitar Oli Metro Station in Nagpur. This Book Corner is the second of its kind in the city, following the success of the first one at the Airport Metro Station. At the Book Corner, passengers will have access to a diverse collection of books centered around the lives and works of historical heroes such as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Swami Vivekananda, Acharya Vinoba Bhave, and Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam.
The Santi Ganeshotsav Mandal has accepted the responsibility of being the guardian of the Chitar Oli Station Book Corner, ensuring its smooth functioning and maintenance. Shrawan Hardikar, the Managing Director of Metro Rail, has ambitious plans for various projects, including Multi-Modal Integration and Last Mile Connectivity. One such successful project is the Hangout Centre at the Airport Metro Station, which has received an overwhelming response from the public. The Vidarbha Sahitya Sangh has been entrusted with the responsibility of being the guardian of this Hangout Centre. The Book Corner will be open for the convenience of passengers from 8 am to 7 pm. The best part is that it’s completely free of charge, and there is no requirement for membership to avail of this facility.
He has made a special appeal to senior citizens and senior citizens clubs to make use of this wonderful resource and encourage young people to do the same. Additionally, visitors to various metro stations will have the opportunity to explore and admire a collection of various goods on display. This initiative by the Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation will undoubtedly promote a love for reading, encourage intellectual growth, and provide a haven for book enthusiasts.
