2 Jawans Killed, 7 Injured as Speeding Bus Rams Auto-Rickshaw in Nagpur
Tragedy struck in Nagpur, Maharashtra, as two Army jawans lost their lives and seven others, including six jawans, sustained injuries in a devastating accident. According to the police, the incident occurred when a speeding private bus collided with an auto-rickshaw. The ill-fated auto-rickshaw was carrying eight jawans from the Guards Regiment Centre in Kamptee. As they approached the Kanhan river bridge at approximately 5:30 pm, the bus crashed into their vehicle, causing the tragic accident. Reports indicate that some of the injured jawans are in critical condition, adding to the gravity of the situation.
The jawans had been on a shopping trip in Kanhan, travelling in two auto-rickshaws. On their way back, tragedy struck when a bus belonging to Paval Travels collided with one of their vehicles. Fortunately, the jawans in the other auto-rickshaw, along with locals, rushed to their aid and pulled them out from the wreckage. The impact of the collision was catastrophic, completely crushing the auto-rickshaw and leaving it in mere scraps. Sadly, two soldiers, Vighnesh and Dheeraj Rai, succumbed to their injuries. The remaining injured jawans – Din Pradhan, Kumar P, Shekhar Jadhav, Arvind, Murugan, and Nagaratnam – are currently receiving treatment. The auto-rickshaw driver, Shankar Kharakban, is also in a serious condition, battling for his life.
In response to the tragic incident, the Maharashtra police have initiated an investigation to determine the circumstances leading to the collision. Such accidents not only claim lives but also serve as a reminder of the importance of road safety and the need for stricter measures to prevent such tragedies from occurring in the future.As the nation mourns the loss of brave soldiers and prays for the recovery of the injured, it is crucial that authorities take appropriate action to ensure justice for the victims and implement measures to prevent similar accidents in the future.
