Traffic Diversions Announced in Nagpur for Eid-e-Milad Procession on September 16

On September 16, 2024, the Muslim community in Nagpur will celebrate Eid-e-Milad, honoring the birth of Prophet Muhammad. To mark this special occasion, the Central Siratunnabi Committee has organized a grand procession that will traverse various parts of the city.The procession will commence from Mirfaiz Masjid and will make its way through several major intersections, including Sevasadan Square, Geetanjali Square, Dosarbhavan Square, Bhagwaghad Square, Momimpura Square, Timki Square, Golibar Square, Ganjakhet Square, and others, culminating at Sevasadan Square.
Traffic Regulations
To ensure public safety and manage traffic during this significant event, Nagpur’s Traffic Police will implement various traffic diversions. From 6:00 AM on September 16 until the conclusion of the procession, traffic will be restricted on Central Avenue Road, specifically from Santra Market Overbridge to Telephone Exchange Square via Jaystambh Square.Key Traffic Diversions Include:
- From Telephone Exchange/Darodkar Square: Traffic heading towards Agrasen Square via CA Road will be redirected towards Badkas Square and Tangastand Square from Gandhi Statue Square.
- From Sona Restaurant Square: Traffic will be rerouted to Gandhibagh and Buddhukhaw Minara.
- From Chitnis Park Square: Traffic will be diverted to Badkas Square and Maulana Azad Square, with exceptions for sub-processions.
Additionally, several other traffic diversions will be enforced across major roads and intersections to ensure the smooth flow of the procession without disrupting city traffic. The traffic police will also have the authority to implement real-time diversions as necessary to manage traffic effectively. Citizens and commuters are encouraged to avoid the procession routes during the specified times and to cooperate with traffic authorities to minimize any inconvenience.
