Pune Gets Two Vande Bharat Express Trains – One to Nagpur, Another to Hubli, PM to flag off on 15th Sept

In a significant enhancement to inter-city connectivity, the Pune-Nagpur route will feature one of the 10 Vande Bharat express trains set to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at an event in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, on September 15. Railway officials have confirmed that this marks the first occasion where 10 Vande Bharat trains will be launched simultaneously.
Amit Gadre, an IT professional working in Pune, shared his excitement, stating, “My hometown is Nagpur, and my travel used to rely heavily on ticket availability. The introduction of Vande Bharat will alleviate the reservation rush and significantly cut down travel time.”Another passenger, Kedar Mahangale, echoed this sentiment, saying, “Trains on the Pune-Nagpur route are often overcrowded, and tickets need to be booked well in advance. The Vande Bharat train will provide us with a fantastic travel option.”
Additionally, the Hubli-Pune Vande Bharat train is also scheduled to commence operations on September 15, as per a press release from the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) state Railway Cell. Kailas Varma, the BJP Maharashtra Railway Cell President, had previously urged the Ministry of Railways to introduce Vande Bharat services following the electrification of railway tracks in western Maharashtra. Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had also advocated for the initiation of fast-moving trains on this route. In response to these requests, the Ministry of Railways has approved services between Hubli and Pune.
Umesh Shah, a member of the Sangli Railway Development Group, provided further details, stating, “The train will depart from Hubli at 5 am, arriving in Pune at 1:30 pm, with stops at Dharwad, Belgavi, Miraj, Sangli, and Satara. Conversely, the Vande Bharat train from Pune will leave at 2:15 pm and reach Hubli railway station by 11 pm.”
