Municipal Commissioner Orders Cleaner Streets, Directs Waste Disposal to Bhandewadi Dump

On Monday, Dr. Abhijeet Chaudhari, the Municipal Commissioner and Administrator, conducted a comprehensive inspection of sanitation operations in the Laxmi Nagar and Dharampeth zones. During his visit, he highlighted the necessity for enhanced sanitation practices and instructed Deputy Commissioners Milind Meshram and Prakash Varade to tackle the issue of absenteeism among sanitation workers.
Dr. Chaudhari reviewed the attendance records of sanitation personnel and mandated the issuance of show cause notices to those who were absent without prior notification. He visited several locations, including Aath Rasta Chowk, RS Convent, and Bajaj Nagar, emphasizing that no garbage piles should be visible in these areas.The Municipal Commissioner directed that all waste must be transported directly to the Bhandewadi dumping yard using compactors. He cautioned contractors to comply with this directive to ensure effective waste management.
Dr. Chaudhari, along with Deputy Commissioners Dr. Gajendra Mahalle (Solid Waste Management) and Rambhau Tidke (Zonal Sanitation Officer), as well as Zonal Sanitation Officers Deendayal Tembhekar and Rajendra Shetty, will ensure the strict enforcement of sanitation regulations and compliance across the zones.
Furthermore, Dr. Chaudhari announced plans to implement regular training sessions for sanitation workers to enhance their skills and knowledge regarding best practices in waste management and hygiene. He believes that empowering the sanitation workforce will lead to improved efficiency and accountability.
To ensure ongoing compliance with sanitation regulations, Dr. Chaudhari, along with Deputy Commissioners Dr. Gajendra Mahalle (Solid Waste Management) and Rambhau Tidke (Zonal Sanitation Officer), as well as Zonal Sanitation Officers Deendayal Tembhekar and Rajendra Shetty, will oversee strict enforcement of sanitation policies. They are committed to fostering a cleaner and healthier environment for all residents, with regular follow-ups and assessments planned to monitor progress in the coming weeks.
