NMC Unveils ‘I Will Vote’ Campaign to Boost Voter Awareness

The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) is taking significant strides to boost voter awareness and encourage a high turnout for the upcoming elections on November 20. This initiative is part of the Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) program, designed to engage citizens in the democratic process.
One of the creative strategies employed by the NMC includes attaching “I will vote for sure” stickers to various vehicles throughout the city. This initiative not only serves as a reminder for individuals to exercise their voting rights but also fosters a sense of community commitment to participating in the electoral process. Notably, the official vehicle of Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer, Vinayak Mahamuni, proudly displayed this sticker, symbolizing leadership in promoting civic engagement.
The campaign was officially inaugurated by District Election Officer and District Collector Dr. Vipin Itankar, who set an example by placing a sticker on his own vehicle during the launch event. This act emphasized the importance of voting and encouraged others to follow suit.
The launch took place at the District Collector’s office in Civil Lines, drawing attention from various officials committed to enhancing voter participation. In attendance were Additional District Collector Tushar Thombre, Municipal Corporation Additional Commissioner and SVEEP Nodal Officer Ajay Charthankar, Deputy District Election Officer Praveen Mahire, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Ranjana Lade, Public Relations Officer Manish Soni, and Sports Officer Dr. Piyush Ambulkar.
Their collective presence underscored the collaborative effort to ensure that every citizen understands the importance of their vote. Through these initiatives, the NMC aims to create a culture of voting, encouraging citizens to take part in shaping their future on election day.
