Nagpur Swelters in Intense Heat as Temperatures Soar to 36.4°C
Residents of Nagpur are feeling the heat as the monsoon’s withdrawal has been delayed, resulting in hot and humid weather conditions. On Friday, the city recorded a daytime temperature of 36.4°C, which is three degrees above the normal average, marking it as the highest temperature in the Vidarbha region. Its close to the winters and still there is no sign of it as far as the high temperature is concerned. This makes the city sweat even during the months like October, which makes it close to the winter season.
Unfortunately, there are no weather alerts for the next three days, indicating that relief from the heat is not on the horizon. According to the meteorological department, the monsoon withdrawal line has reached the borders of Madhya Pradesh, and if conditions remain favorable, it could cross into Maharashtra in the coming days. Typically, the monsoon clouds begin to recede from Nagpur during the first week of October, but this year, the withdrawal is expected to extend into the second week.
The weather department has noted that the withdrawal line has already progressed through parts of western Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, with significant areas of Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Gujarat already experiencing the end of the monsoon season. Currently, low-pressure areas are forming in the Bay of Bengal, and there are cyclonic circulations present in both West Bengal and the Arabian Sea. However, no weather alerts have been issued for central India, leaving residents to endure the unseasonably warm temperatures for the time being.
