Microsoft Procures16.4-acre land in Pune’s Hinjewadi for a whopping ₹520 crore

Global tech giant Microsoft has invested close to Rs. 519.72 crore on land parcels spread across an area of 16.4 acres in Pune’s Hinjewadi, a major IT hub. The transactions, registered in August 2024, involved the purchase of 66,414.5 square meters (~16.4 acres) of prime land from Indo Global Infotech City LLP. This investment aligns with Microsoft’s broader strategy to expand its presence in India, particularly within its data center operations. 

Other Recent Real Estate Deals by Microsoft

In 2022, Microsoft Corporation (India) had acquired 10.89 lakh sq ft of commercial plot in Pune from Finolex Industries for a consolidated amount of ₹328.84 crore. Earlier this year, Microsoft secured 48 acres of land in Hyderabad for Rs. 267 crore.These deals are part of Microsoft’s efforts to solidify its presence across key markets in India, including Pune, Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Chennai, where it has established data center operations. 

According to media reports, in 2022, Microsoft had acquired three land parcels in Hyderabad for around ₹275 crore to establish a data center. These strategic land acquisitions underscore Microsoft’s commitment to strengthening its foothold in India’s thriving technology landscape. By investing in prime real estate across major IT hubs like Pune and Hyderabad, the tech giant is positioning itself to cater to the growing demand for data center services and support its overall business expansion in the country.
