Mentally Challenged Individual Kills Two at Nagpur Railway Station

In a tragic incident at Nagpur Railway Station early Monday morning, at least two people lost their lives and three others sustained injuries, two of them critically, following an attack by a mentally challenged man. The assailant struck a group of six to seven individuals who were sleeping on platform number 6, using a concrete sleeper slab—one of the heavy blocks typically employed on railway tracks—in an attempt to bludgeon them. The sudden violence sent shockwaves through the station.
A patrolling team from the Government Railway Police heard the distressing screams and quickly rushed to the scene, where they were able to restrain the attacker. Among the victims, 40-year-old Ganesh Kumar from Tamil Nadu was identified, while the other deceased was an unnamed homeless man. The three others who were injured, two of whom suffered serious wounds, are currently receiving medical treatment at a local hospital.
The 45-year-old assailant initially attempted to flee the scene but was apprehended by police shortly after the incident. Law enforcement officials have subsequently filed a murder case against him, and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the attack is ongoing.In light of this shocking event, security measures at Nagpur Railway Station have been significantly enhanced to ensure the safety of passengers and staff.
