Meditrina Becomes Vidarbha’s First Paperless Hospital

In a commendable effort to reduce paper usage, Dr. Sameer Paltewar, a renowned neurologist, has initiated a completely paperless system at the Meditrina Institute of Medical Sciences. This innovative move makes the institute the first hospital in Vidarbha to adopt a fully paperless approach. Alongside Dr. Paltewar, the initiative is supported by a dedicated team of doctors, including Dr. Arpan Pandey and Amruta Sharma. To facilitate this transition, the hospital is utilizing Presco, a mobile app developed by three young innovators. This app has been in use for over three years and is already helping more than 600 hospitals streamline their operations while minimizing paper consumption.

Environmental Impact

The decision to go paperless aligns with global efforts to combat climate change. The Presco app is particularly beneficial for tree conservation, addressing the environmental impact of paper production. Since paper is made from trees, reducing paper usage can significantly help in preserving forests. By embracing digital solutions, Meditrina Institute not only enhances its operational efficiency but also contributes to the sustainability of our planet. This initiative exemplifies how healthcare institutions can leverage technology to create a more environmentally friendly future.

As more hospitals consider similar transitions, the collective impact on global warming and deforestation could be substantial, showcasing the importance of innovation in healthcare practices. Dr. Paltewar and his team are setting a positive example for others to follow, proving that modern technology can play a crucial role in promoting environmental responsibility.
