Devendra Fadnavis Deputy CM Imposes Midnight Deadline for Ganesh and Durga Murti Visarjan in Nagpur

Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has instructed officials to ensure that the immersions of Ganesh and Durga idols conclude by midnight. This directive followed a meeting with residents of South West Nagpur, a constituency represented by Fadnavis, aimed at addressing concerns regarding the upcoming festivals.

This meeting, the first of its kind ahead of the festive season, highlighted Fadnavis’s commitment to public safety, cleanliness, and effective planning during Ganeshotsav and Durgotsav. To mitigate late-night disruptions, he proposed that idol immersions be spread over two days. Fadnavis urged officials to collaborate with festival organizers to ensure that the immersion process is completed by midnight.

In addition to discussing immersion timings, the meeting addressed several other important topics. These included extending the validity of permissions granted by the Charity Commissioner, reducing advance payments owed to the State Electricity Board, and enhancing traffic management during the festival period.

Ritesh Gawande, President of the BJP South West constituency, characterized the meeting as positive and emphasized that Fadnavis’s directives would have a beneficial impact on the entire city. The Deputy Chief Minister also engaged with leaders from 145 Ganesh and Durga Mandals in the region, providing them a platform to voice their concerns and suggestions.

Key officials in attendance included Commissioner of Police Dr. Ravinder Kumar Singal, Additional Commissioner of Nagpur Municipal Corporation Ajay Chawre, and MLC Dr. Parinay Fuke. Their presence underscores the collaborative effort between government officials and community leaders to ensure a safe, organized, and joyous celebration for all during the festive season. With these initiatives in place, residents can look forward to a well-managed and celebratory atmosphere during Ganeshotsav and Durgotsav.
