22-Year-Old Engineer Killed in Road Accident; Friend in Critical Condition
A tragic road accident on Wardha Road on Saturday night resulted in the death of a 22-year-old engineer and left his friend in serious condition. The incident took place around 9:40 p.m. within the jurisdiction of Hingna Police Station.The victims, Kunal Sukant Vishwas (22) and Ashish Shivprasad Patel (24), were riding a motorcycle (CG-11/AX8565) when they were struck from behind by an unidentified vehicle near the Old Toll Naka of Dongargaon.
The vehicle fled the scene, dragging both the men and their motorcycle for a considerable distance, causing severe injuries. Witnesses quickly alerted the authorities, and both men were rushed to Swami Vivekanand Hospital. Kunal Vishwas was pronounced dead at the scene, while Ashish Patel remains in critical condition. Both engineers hailed from Raipur, Chhattisgarh, and were employed at a healthcare company in MIHAN.
They were on their way to a Dhaba for a meal after completing a night shift and lived with a friend at Urban Glory Apartment in Khapri. Kunal’s body has been sent to AIIMS Hospital for a postmortem examination. Omkar Patel, a close friend who had spoken to Kunal shortly before the accident, is reportedly heartbroken by the devastating news. The police have registered a case against the unidentified driver and are actively investigating to locate the perpetrator.
