Traffic Restrictions Implemented for Navratri Festival in Nagpur’s Chitar Oli

The city is preparing for the grand celebration of the Navratri and Durga festival, scheduled from October 3 to October 12, 2024. A key highlight of the festivities will be Chitar Oli, renowned for its idol-making workshops, which is expected to see a surge in visitors placing orders for Durga idols. With the area’s narrow roads and anticipated increase in traffic, minor accidents and frequent traffic jams are likely.

To tackle these challenges and maintain smooth traffic flow, the Nagpur traffic police have issued official advisory announcing traffic restrictions in the Chitar Oli area during the festival. These measures are designed to minimize congestion and reduce inconvenience for residents.According to the advisory, the following traffic restrictions will be in effect from 6:00 AM on October 3, 2024, until 7:00 AM on October 4, 2024:

One-way Traffic: Traffic will be permitted to flow one way from Badkas Square to Bhavsar Square via Chitar Oli, while the opposite route from Bhavsar Square to Badkas Square via Chitar Oli will be closed.

Traffic Diversions: Vehicles coming from Bhavsar Square to Chitar Oli will be redirected to Badkas Square via Gandhi Statue Square.

Blocked Routes: Traffic between Badkas Square and Shaheed Square will be halted at Gandhi Statue Square. Vehicles from Badkas Square will be redirected to Agrawal Square, while traffic from Shaheed Square will be diverted to Darodkar Square.

On-duty traffic police officers have also been authorized to reroute traffic as needed, based on real-time conditions. Residents are encouraged to cooperate with the traffic regulations and adhere to the diversions to ensure a smooth celebration and avoid traffic-related disruptions. These restrictions have been implemented to prioritize the safety of citizens and facilitate easy movement during the festive season. Stay tuned to know more about it and others only with us.
