Pune Police Book Warehouse Worker for Allegedly Stealing 280 Laptops
Pune police have booked a warehouse helper for allegedly stealing 280 laptops worth ₹1 crore from a facility in Ubalenagar, Lonikand. The theft reportedly occurred between 6 PM on Friday and 11 AM on Monday at the godown of Arcline Logistics and Warehousing Private Limited. According to the complaint filed by the company manager, Balkrushna Raut, a case has been registered against Suresh Kumar, a resident of Wagholi.
Raut, who has been managing the facility for the past six months, stated that Suresh Kumar had joined the company as a helper just a month and a half ago. Kumar left his position on Friday due to salary disputes. Following his departure, Raut locked the warehouse that evening. Due to the weekend, the warehouse remained closed on Saturday and Sunday. When Raut returned on Monday morning to open the warehouse, he discovered that the lock had been broken and 280 laptops were missing. Concerned, he notified his superiors, and based on their guidance, he filed a police complaint on Tuesday at the Lonikand police station.
Police officers from Lonikand confirmed that Suresh Kumar is a key suspect in the case. They stated, “According to the manager’s complaint, we believe Suresh Kumar, who worked in the warehouse, had knowledge of the operations and layout. We have officially booked Kumar, and further investigations are underway.”The case has been registered at Lonikand police station under various sections of the BNS, including 305(A), 306, 331(2), 331(3), 331(4), and 334, as authorities continue to probe the incident.
