Pune Lad – Archit Dongre Bags 3rd rank in UPSC

Archit Parag Dongre, a 22-year-old from Pune, has made headlines by securing All India Rank (AIR) 3 in the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2024, the results of which were announced by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Tuesday. This remarkable achievement also makes him the top performer from Maharashtra.
Other commendable candidates from the state include Tejaswi Deshpande, who secured the 99th rank, and Ankita Patil, who achieved the 303rd rank, both hailing from Thane.Archit completed his school education in Mumbai before relocating to Pune for higher studies. He pursued a degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) in Tamil Nadu.
After graduating, he worked for a year in an IT company but decided to quit his job to focus on preparing for the highly competitive UPSC exams. Notably, in the 2023 UPSC results, Archit had previously secured the 153rd rank and was selected for training with the Indian Police Service (IPS).Reflecting on his journey, Archit stated, “I wanted to secure a higher ranking, so I decided to give another attempt.
My family, friends, and mentors provided invaluable guidance throughout this process.” For the civil services exam, he chose philosophy as his optional subject, which contributed to his outstanding performance.Archit’s success is not only a personal achievement but also an inspiration for many aspiring civil servants across the country. His determination and dedication serve as a testament to the hard work required to succeed in one of the toughest examinations in India.
