Pune Airport Achieves Historic Cargo Milestone

In a remarkable achievement for Pune’s aviation sector, Pune Airport has set a new record by handling an unprecedented 144 metric tonnes of cargo in just 24 hours. This milestone highlights the airport’s growing importance as a vital hub for air freight in the region.

According to information from airport authorities, the cargo operations between 6 am on June 3 and 6 am on June 4, 2025, included an inbound cargo volume of 72.73 metric tonnes and an outbound volume of 71.24 metric tonnes, totaling 144 metric tonnes. This surpasses previous records and underscores the increasing demand for air cargo services in Pune.

New Executive Lounge Inauguration
In addition to the cargo achievement, Pune Airport has also unveiled the Elysian International executive lounge in the international security hold area of the New Integrated Terminal Building. The lounge was inaugurated by Murlidhar Mohol, Minister of State for Civil Aviation and Cooperation, marking a significant enhancement in the passenger experience for international travelers.
