Patanjali Food Park in Nagpur to Bring Relief to Vidarbha Farmers: Devendra Fadnavis

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis inaugurated the new Patanjali Food and Herbal Park at Mihan in Nagpur on Sunday. This initiative aims to support farmers in the Vidarbha region who have been affected by incidents of farmer suicides.The inauguration ceremony was also attended by Patanjali Ayurved’s co-founder Ramdev and managing director Acharya Balkrishna.
The food park will include an orange processing plant designed to handle a variety of fruits sourced from local farmers, emphasizing sorting, grading, storage, and comprehensive processing, including the skin and seeds.Minister Gadkari outlined his initiatives aimed at benefiting orange farmers in Vidarbha, focusing on enhancing fruit production, improving quality, and ensuring fair pricing for their produce.
“The new park will provide much-needed relief to farmers in the Vidarbha region,” stated Gadkari, who represents the Nagpur Lok Sabha seat. Chief Minister Fadnavis expressed optimism, saying, “I believe this center will be a boon not only for this project but for all orange-growing farmers.”Fadnavis also noted that the facility would process all types of fruits, not just oranges. He stressed the importance of fruit processing in preventing wastage and ensuring fair pricing for farmers’ products.
Both Gadkari and Fadnavis expressed their gratitude to Ramdev and Balkrishna for establishing the food park in Nagpur. This facility is expected to tackle the challenges faced by farmers in the Vidarbha region, particularly those involved in orange cultivation, by providing a comprehensive processing solution for their produce.
