Orange City Photographers Club Marks 30th Anniversary with Four-Day Photo Expo and Competition in Nagpur

To commemorate three decades of nurturing creative talent and visual storytelling in the region, the Orange City Photographers Club has announced a grand four-day photography exhibition and competition in Nagpur. Running from August 16 to August 19, the milestone 30th annual photo expo is being organized in alignment with global World Photography Day celebrations. The venue for this prestigious gathering is the South Central Zone Cultural Centre (SCZCC) in Civil Lines, providing an expansive stage for photographers across the region to exhibit their finest work, experiment with unique styles, and present compelling visual narratives.
The competitive aspect of the exhibition is structured into three primary categories designed to capture diverse photographic disciplines: ‘Wildlife and Nature’, ‘Travel, Street and Event’, and ‘Mobile Photography’. To recognize exceptional skill and encourage participation from both seasoned professionals and budding visual artists, the competition carries an attractive total prize pool of Rs 1.35 lakh. By incorporating mobile photography, the organizers aim to make the competition inclusive, acknowledging the growing influence of smartphone technology in contemporary image-making.
The photo expo will officially commence on August 16 at 11:00 AM with a formal inauguration ceremony led by Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) Abhijit Wanjari. Following the opening, the exhibition galleries will remain open to visitors, art collectors, and the general public every day from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Attendees can look forward to viewing an inspiring collection of imagery capturing vibrant local traditions, breathtaking wildlife moments, intricate street life, and scenic landscapes.
In addition to the public exhibition and competitive gallery, the event will feature specialized photography workshops hosted by industry veterans and domain experts. These interactive learning sessions will cover essential technical topics such as lighting dynamics, framing, story composition, camera control, and modern editing techniques, making it a valuable educational experience for attendees seeking to enhance their creative skills.
