NGO Prayas Launches E-Waste Collection Drive to Promote Environmental Conservation
The non-governmental organization (NGO) Prayas has kicked off an e-waste collection initiative by personally reaching out to community members via phone calls. Prayas is well-known for its unwavering dedication to environmental conservation through a variety of impactful programs. Among its significant initiatives is the development of an Oxygen Park on the outskirts of the city, which is an integral part of its environmental efforts.
Now, the NGO – Prayas is turning its attention to the pressing issue of e-waste.The e-waste collection center was recently inaugurated by Assistant Municipal Commissioner Sumant More. Dr. Vijay Kawalkar, president of Prayas, announced that the campaign will continue until the end of the month. To encourage participation, the NGO has launched a contest for various groups, with exceptional contributors set to be recognized by distinguished guests at a special event.
The municipal administration has extended its support by establishing a collection center at Mahatma Phule Municipal Council High School. Their staff has also been actively involved in the awareness campaign as part of the initiative. Prayas has urged residents to collect and bring their e-waste to the designated collection center.
The inauguration event saw the participation of numerous Prayas activists, including Nagesh Kapate, Dr. Vijay Kawalkar, Sudha Patel, Dr. Vijaya Kawalkar, Manik Mehre, Amogh Vora, Sudheer Ghorgade, Raju Jain, Vasant Upaganalawar, Pramod Yadao, Mahendra Gulhane, Mukesh Patawa, and Nitin Komalwar.
