Nagpur to Witness Traffic Restrictions for ‘Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana’ Event

The Nagpur Police have announced traffic restrictions across the city in anticipation of the ‘Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana’ program, set to take place on August 31, 2024. The event will occur at Reshim Bagh Ground from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM, with a significant turnout of women expected from both the city and surrounding districts.

To facilitate smooth traffic flow and ensure public safety, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Shashikant Satav has issued an order limiting vehicle entry and parking in specific areas around the event venue. Additionally, 868 buses will be transporting participants from various locations in Nagpur District, contributing to expected congestion.

The following routes will be closed to all vehicles:

  • From C.P. & Berar to Awari Chowk to Krida Chowk.
  • From Krida Chowk to Awari Chowk to C.P. & Berar College.
  • From Ashok Chowk to Apsara Chowk to Bhola Ganesh Chowk.
  • From Bhola Ganesh Chowk to Apsara Chowk to Ashok Chowk.
  • From Ashok Chowk to Awari Chowk to Sakkardara Chowk.
  • From Sakkardara Chowk to Awari Chowk to Ashok Chowk.
  • From Keshavdwar to Gajanan Maharaj Chowk, and vice versa.

To manage diverted traffic, alternative routes will be available:

  • Vehicles from C.P. & Berar College towards Awari Chowk will be redirected to Ram Cooler Chowk and Jhenda Chowk.
  • Traffic from Ashok Chowk to Bhola Ganesh Chowk will be diverted to Ramkuler Chowk.
  • Vehicles traveling from Ashok Chowk to Sakkardara Chowk will take the route via Medical Chowk.
  • Traffic from Krida Chowk to Apsara Chowk will be redirected to Tukdoji Chowk and Medical Chowk.
  • Vehicles moving from Sakkardara Chowk to Ashok Chowk will be directed through Chhota Tajbagh Chowk and Tiranga Chowk.
  • Traffic from Bhola Ganesh Chowk to Ashok Chowk will be diverted via Jhenda Chowk Mahal and Sakkardara Chowk.

Only government vehicles, ambulances, fire brigades, and buses transporting women for the event will be permitted on the restricted routes. All other motorists are encouraged to plan their journeys accordingly and utilize alternative roads to avoid disruptions.

These restrictions will be enforced from 5:00 AM until the conclusion of the event on August 31, 2024. The police will disseminate information through loudspeakers and local announcements. For further details, notices will be posted at police stations, government offices, and public locations throughout Nagpur.
