Nagpur to Host ‘Heritage on Wheels – Vintage Car Exhibition’

The Raman Science Centre and Planetarium, Nagpur, in collaboration with the Central India Vintage Automotive Association (CIVAA), is set to host the second edition of the ‘Heritage on Wheels – Vintage Car Exhibition’ on Sunday, February 16, from 10 AM to 5 PM. This grand event will feature a spectacular display of vintage cars and bikes, showcasing a glimpse into the rich history of automobile design and engineering.One of the major highlights of the exhibition will be a fully functional 1:1 replica of the 1886 Benz Motorwagen, the world’s oldest car, meticulously crafted by Iqbal Ahmed.
The event will be inaugurated by Police Commissioner Ravinder Singal, with Kartik Kale, director of Jaika Motors, as the guest of honour. Visitors will have the opportunity to witness around 30 vintage cars and 30 classic two-wheelers, including several rare and iconic vehicles making their debut appearance in Nagpur.The exhibition will celebrate the evolution of automotive technology and design, offering attendees a closer look at beautifully restored vintage automobiles.
Each vehicle on display represents a unique engineering marvel from a bygone era, making this event a must-attend for automobile enthusiasts and history buffs alike.Key organizers of the event include CIVAA office bearers Shahrukh Cassad (Vice President)Anjan Chatterjee (Secretary), and Ashish Limbanna (Joint Secretary), alongside Manoj Panda, Project Coordinator of Raman Science Centre, and Charudatta Pulliwar, Education Officer.The first edition of the vintage display, held on March 3, 2024, saw over 3,000 visitors and was a resounding success. Organizers are optimistic that this year’s exhibition will attract an even larger audience. Vintage car lovers and history enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating this unique celebration of automotive heritage.
