Nagpur Police Commissionerate and Maitri Parivar Host Tree Plantation Drive

On August 16, 2022, a significant tree plantation drive took place at the Nagpur City Police Headquarters, organized in partnership with Maitri Parivar. The event kicked off at 11:00 AM, inaugurated by Dr. Ravindra Singal, the Police Commissioner of Nagpur City. During his address, Dr. Singal emphasized the crucial role trees play in maintaining environmental balance. He highlighted their contributions to oxygen production, soil erosion prevention, air pollution reduction, and temperature regulation. He praised Maitri Parivar for their initiative in providing saplings and stressed the importance of collective efforts to protect nature through tree planting and ongoing care.

Dr. Singal directed all police station heads in Nagpur to gather saplings from Maitri Parivar, available at “Vishnuji ki Rasoi,” and encouraged them to organize similar tree plantation drives at their respective stations. He suggested utilizing geo-tagging technology to monitor the growth and health of the planted trees, advising police stations to collaborate with the Cyber Police Station for assistance if needed. He also encouraged the sharing of monthly updates on the saplings’ status, including photographs, within their network.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from senior police officials, including Joint Police Commissioner Smt. Ashwati Dorje, Additional Police Commissioner Mr. Sanjay Patil, Deputy Commissioners, Assistant Commissioners, Senior Inspectors, and numerous members of Maitri Parivar, along with environmental enthusiasts. This initiative reflects the joint commitment of the Nagpur Police and the community toward environmental conservation, reinforcing the message that collaborative efforts can lead to a healthier and more sustainable environment for future generations. The drive not only aimed to increase green cover but also served as a reminder of the importance of nurturing and protecting our natural resources.
