Nagpur Cop Caught on Camera Roughing Up Rider After Helmet Query
On Wednesday, April 9, a police officer allegedly manhandled and verbally abused a man who questioned him for riding a two-wheeler without a helmet on the Mankapur-Gorewada Road near Jaripatka. The incident, captured on video, has since gone viral on social media, igniting public outrage and calls for stringent action against the officer involved.
The officer in question has been identified as Anand Singh. According to the complainant, the confrontation began when he urged Singh to adhere to traffic rules and wear a helmet. Instead of acknowledging the concern, Singh reportedly ordered the man to stop his vehicle. The situation escalated as Singh allegedly verbally abused him and physically manhandled him during the encounter.
In the viral video, Singh can be seen accusing the rider of using abusive language. However, the footage clearly shows Singh himself resorting to abusive language throughout the altercation, raising questions about his conduct as a police officer.
Following the incident, a formal complaint was lodged at the Jaripatka Police Station. In response to the backlash, the Traffic Police Department issued a challan to Singh for riding without a helmet.
