Metro Services Begin at Indora Square Station

The much-anticipated opening of the Indora Square Metro Station for passenger services took place on Friday, marking a significant milestone in the Nagpur Metro Project. The Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) recently granted approval for the station’s commissioning, making it the final metro station to become operational in Phase-I of the project.The first train from Automotive Square Metro Station arrived at Indora Square at 6:05 PM, while another train from Khapri Metro Station reached at 6:02 PM. With this opening, Indora Square becomes the 38th metro station to serve the public, signifying the completion of the first phase of the Nagpur Metro Rail Project.
This station is part of the Orange Line on the North-South Corridor, which runs from Khapri to Automotive Square.The Orange Line features 18 metro stations and covers a total distance of 19.658 kilometers. Indora Square Metro Station boasts a built-up area of 10,233 square meters and comprises four floors (G+4), equipped with 10 escalators and 6 elevators, alongside staircases and a Foot-Over-Bridge (FOB) for commuters.Indora Square Metro Station will provide easy access to passengers from nearby areas such as Panchpaoli, Jaripatka, Kamal Chowk, Inox, Mecosabagh, and other residential neighborhoods.
The locality is a vibrant commercial hub, home to numerous small and large businesses as well as academic institutions. The station features two entry and exit points on the east and west sides of the road, and it is designed with a tactile path for the differently abled, ensuring wheelchair accessibility throughout the entire pathway.
