Labour Ministry Gets Complaint from IT Workers Association Against TCS: Check the Allegations

NITES of the Nascent Information Technology Employees Senate is a big name in the IT industry in India. It is a platform that fights for the rights of employees working in the IT domain. The body is back in the news and this time in connection with the Tata Consultancy Services commonly known as the TCS. As per reports of the Economic Times, NITES have issued a letter to the ministry of labour hurling allegations against the said company.
The allegation claimed that the company has been transferring more than 2K employees for their own reasons. The letter informed that the company is doing this forcefully without keeping the interest of the employees. The body further alleged that the TCS seemed to have started these transfers of the employees to various base locations without even discussing the employees. The letter also suggests that the employees have been given only two weeks’ time to their respective new locations. If they fail, they will lose their salaries.
The letter further claimed that these unlawful transfers have only created a panic situation among the workforce. Also, the employees are seen under emotional and financial states. The body has requested the ministry to consider an investigation against the TCS transfer policies. They have also requested to check how the violations have taken place while handling this case.
They have called this transfer as an illegal act and thus it is important to check the violation as the company is yet to give any valid reason for these transfers. The employees should be given fair opportunity to find out the alternative solutions claimed in the letter. The case is more of the employees based in Mumbai who have been facing the issue of transfers.
