The Pune police have since taken the accused into custody, and efforts are ongoing to locate the other individual involved. According to Bhagyesh Oswal, an official at the Yerawada police station, the man in the front seat has been detained, while Gaurav Ahuja, who was urinating, is currently absconding. Reports indicate that Gaurav’s father, a businessman, has also been taken into custody.“Oswal has undergone medical tests as we suspect the youths were under the influence at the time. Ahuja remains at large, and both local police and Crime Branch teams are working to apprehend him,” PTI quoted an official as saying.
A case has been filed under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Motor Vehicles Act, covering offenses related to public nuisance, reckless and negligent driving, and endangering public safety.Social activist Vijay Kumbhar, who shared the video, criticized the behavior of privileged youths in Pune, describing them as having turned the city into a personal playground of chaos. Kumbhar alleged that Gaurav Ahuja is not a first-time offender but a habitual criminal with a history of offenses, claiming both Gaurav and his father, Manoj Ahuja, have multiple criminal cases against them.“Empowered by their father’s wealth and influence, they act as if they are above the law, driving recklessly in luxury cars, intimidating ordinary citizens, and creating public disturbances without fear of consequences,” Kumbhar stated.
