GIIS Nagpur to Host Global Chess Championship 2025

Global Indian International School (GIIS) in Nagpur is gearing up to host the Global Chess Competition 2025 on Sunday, July 6, 2025. The event will take place at its state-of-the-art campus situated on Lava, Khadgaon Road, in collaboration with the Kalpana Prakash Welfare Foundation and the Chess Association Nagpur.
This inter-school competition invites participation from all schools in Nagpur, providing a unique platform for young chess enthusiasts to showcase their skills. Participants will compete in two main categories: Boys and Girls, with team prizes awarded to the Top Three Schools in each division. In addition, individual awards will be given to the Top 10 players across five age groups: Under-15, Under-13, Under-11, Under-9, and Under-7.
With over 150 players already registered, the event promises to be an exciting showcase of strategic brilliance and youthful enthusiasm. The tournament will adopt the Rapid format, featuring a time control of 15 minutes with a 10-second increment per move.
Participants are expected to arrive by 9:30 AM, followed by the Inauguration Ceremony at 9:45 AM. The first round of matches will kick off promptly at 10:00 AM.
GIIS Nagpur is proud to bring together emerging chess talents from the region and is dedicated to promoting holistic education through intellectually stimulating sporting events. The competition aims to foster a love for chess while encouraging strategic thinking and sportsmanship among students.
