Paradi Police Arrest 19-Year-Old for Possession of Illegal Firearm

In a swift operation, Paradi Police apprehended a 19-year-old man for illegally possessing a country-made pistol and a live cartridge in the early hours of November 19, 2024. The arrest occurred during a routine patrol near Nanddeep Dhaba on Jabalpur Road, following reliable intelligence. The suspect, identified as Chetan Prakash Kasar, hails from Ran Goda Pura, Davalechi Wadi, Paradi. Police stopped him around 1:00 AM for questioning. Upon revealing his identity, officers conducted a search and discovered a country-made pistol along with a live cartridge hidden in his jeans pocket.
The total estimated value of the seized items was around Rs. 20,500.Kasar was charged with possessing an illegal firearm and violating police orders. A case has been registered against him under Section 3/25 of the Arms Act and Section 135 of the Maharashtra Police Act at the Paradi Police Station.This operation was conducted under the supervision of Police Commissioner Ravindra Kumar Singh, Deputy Police Commissioner Nisar Tamboli, and Additional Police Commissioner Pramod Shewale, with support from senior officers of the Nagpur city police.  The police team involved included Police Inspector Ranjit Shirsat and Assistant Police Inspector Arvind Kolhare, among others.
