Counting for NMC Polls Begins at 10 AM Today; Results Expected by Evening

The much-awaited counting of votes for the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) elections kicked off at 10 AM on January 16, following the directives of the State Election Commission. Counting centers have been set up across all ten zones of Nagpur to facilitate a smooth and organized process.Each Returning Officer has been equipped with 20 tables dedicated to tallying votes cast via Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and an additional four tables for counting postal ballots.

The counting will proceed simultaneously in all zones, ensuring efficiency and uniformity in the process.Officials anticipate that initial trends will become apparent between 12:30 PM and 1 PM, giving a glimpse of the possible outcome. However, authorities have also cautioned that the final results might face some delay compared to previous elections, due to the scale and complexity of the task.
The NMC administration has left no stone unturned in preparing for this crucial phase, building on the arrangements already made during polling.
