₹2,000 Per Day: New Year’s Eve Parties in Nagpur Under Tight Security Amid Rising Costs After Club Violence

As Nagpur gears up to welcome the New Year, celebrations across clubs and party venues will take place under heightened security measures, with the cost of hiring private bouncers nearly doubling. Following recent violent incidents at city nightspots, event organisers are now spending up to ₹2,000 per bouncer per day to ensure strict compliance and prevent any untoward events on December 31.

Previously, venues paid between ₹1,000 and ₹1,200 daily for security personnel, but concerns escalated after a deadly clash at a Wardha Road club during a Christmas party, which resulted in the tragic deaths of two youths amid violence between rival groups. A police investigation revealed multiple safety lapses at the venue, leading to its temporary shutdown.

Further unsettling the nightlife scene, another Christmas party at a Civil Lines club saw a youth injured in an assault involving a liquor glass. These incidents have prompted the hospitality industry to take security seriously, with club owners and organisers re-evaluating their safety protocols ahead of the New Year.Industry insiders report a sharp rise in demand for trained bouncers, with venues enforcing stricter frisking at entry points and tighter crowd control.

Despite the higher costs, organisers view enhanced security as indispensable to avoid police crackdowns and disruptions to their business.With police expected to maintain close surveillance on late-night events, Nagpur’s New Year’s Eve festivities are set to reflect a new era of caution and vigilance, prioritising safety over spectacle in the city’s nightlife culture.
