Maharashtra Assembly Elections: Over 8,483 EVMs Deployed in Nagpur District

In preparation for the Maharashtra Assembly elections on November 20, Nagpur district has arranged more than 8,483 Ballot Units (EVMs), 4,631 Control Units, and an equal number of VVPATs for the 12 constituencies. To avoid delays caused by technical malfunctions, 20% of the Ballot and Control Units, along with 30% of VVPATs, will be kept as spares, ready for quick replacement within 10 minutes if necessary.A total of 217 candidates will be contesting across these constituencies, including Katol, Saoner, Hingna, and South-West Nagpur.

Each polling station will be monitored by a zonal officer, who will oversee 8-10 stations and provide immediate technical support if required. The district administration, under the leadership of the district election officer and assembly area chiefs, will manage the overall election arrangements.In addition to technical preparations, voter awareness campaigns have been launched to ensure that residents are informed about the voting process and the importance of their participation. Local authorities are also working to ensure that all polling stations are accessible to individuals with disabilities, promoting inclusivity in the electoral process.

This comprehensive preparation aims to ensure a smooth electoral process, allowing voters to exercise their democratic rights effectively.
