State Govt Introduces Online Portal for Employees to Track PF Accounts & Rectify Errors

State government employees will soon have a convenient way to check for missing credits in their provident fund (PF) accounts on a monthly basis. Clerical errors sometimes prevent salary deductions from being reflected in PF accounts, leading to delays in updates. Previously, employees, including senior officers, would only discover these discrepancies in June or July when receiving their PF slips, resulting in a lengthy reconciliation process.
The Principal Accountant General’s (PAG) office, which manages pension and PF cases for state employees, oversees these issues. To tackle this problem, PAG Maharashtra 2, which covers Vidarbha and Marathwada, has launched an online system providing state government employees direct access to their PF accounts. The facility, inaugurated by PAG Jaya Bhagat on Thursday, allows employees to log into the portal at https://cag.gov.in/ae/Nagpur/en to check their PF details.
This system enables them to directly compare their salary slips with their PF accounts, enhancing transparency and making it easier to identify discrepancies.“Employees can now immediately address any issues if the amount is deducted from their salary but not credited to their PF account,” Bhagat stated after the launch. He noted that missing credits can be particularly concerning for employees approaching retirement, as these discrepancies can reduce the amount they receive in PF dues.
While the issue of missing credits has been prevalent, the state government is actively working to resolve it, according to sources. The new system also allows employees to download PF statements for the past five years. Additionally, PAG Jaya Bhagat announced the introduction of an electronic pension payment order (PPO) for family pension subscribers, further streamlining the process for employees.
