February 2026 — The Whispering Woods – A Nature Stroll program brought together 50 enthusiastic participants at the scenic Gorewada Nature Trail this morning. Held from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., the two-hour nature walk was specially designed for children aged 8 to 15, accompanied by parents and supported by young volunteers.
As per reports, the event was guided by Mr. Nitin Marathe, an expert bird watcher and specialist in ornithology and biodiversity observation, the event provided an immersive experience focused on bird watching, identification, biodiversity awareness, and sharpening nature observation skills. Mr. Marathe’s expertise helped participants keenly observe and appreciate the rich flora and fauna along the trail.The group consisted of 36 children, 8 parents, and 6 volunteers from the Young Innovators program, all actively engaging in the learning experience.
The program was supported by the PSF Nagpur Chapter, which has been instrumental in promoting environmental education in the region.Participants enthusiastically identified various bird species, learned about their habitats, and discussed the importance of conserving biodiversity. The interactive sessions encouraged children to connect with the environment through direct observation, fostering a deeper understanding of nature’s delicate balance.
Parents expressed appreciation for the opportunity to engage their children in meaningful outdoor activities that combine education and recreation. Volunteers also played a vital role in facilitating the smooth conduct of the program, assisting both the guide and participants.
Organizers hailed the event as a successful initiative in experiential environmental learning, noting the positive impact it had on young minds. The Whispering Woods – A Nature Stroll continues to be a promising platform for nurturing environmental stewardship among the next generation. The program concluded by handing over the menentos to the guest along with distributing snacks to the parents and children attendign the same.
