Teen Girl Murder in Ajni: 17-Year-Old Arrested After Ordering Knife Online

In a disturbing case from Ajni, police have arrested a 17-year-old suspect in connection with the murder of a teenage girl. Investigations revealed that the minor had ordered the knife used in the attack from an online shopping platform just four days before the crime.Authorities disclosed that after the murder, the boy hid his mobile phone, refusing to disclose its location. The phone is believed to hold vital clues about his planning and mindset leading up to the attack.

The accused works as a caretaker and resides in Rambagh with his mother, who is also a caretaker, along with his brother and sister. His father has a criminal record with nearly 40 cases, including chain-snatching and murder.The victim, whose mother is a caretaker nurse, had been friends with the accused for two years. However, in the past month, the boy believed she was avoiding him, which reportedly led to frequent arguments. Police suspect this was the motive behind the brutal attack.

Mortuary Incident at GMC&H

In a related event, relatives of the deceased girl broke the locks of the mortuary room at Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) around 3 a.m. on Saturday. Ajni Police reported that three relatives, who had been drinking outside the mortuary late Friday night, forcibly broke two door locks. The hospital administration confirmed that the body remained safely secured inside the freezer.Following this, the Maharashtra Security Force filed a complaint, and Ajni Police registered a case against the three individuals.

Details of the Crime and Arrest

The crime occurred Friday afternoon near St. Anthony School in Ajni. The boy blocked the girl’s path and stabbed her. Despite being rushed to the hospital, the girl succumbed to her injuries.After the attack, the minor left the knife at the scene and fled on a scooter. He later went to a relative’s home in Gangabai Ghat, where he burned his blood-stained clothes and mobile phone, changed clothes, and hid the scooter at another relative’s house on Nara Road. Using CCTV footage, the Crime Branch tracked and arrested him.The minor was produced in Juvenile Court, which granted police one day for questioning. The investigation is ongoing.
