Arohi Deshpande from Pune has secured the top spot among female candidates nationwide in the Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced), achieving an impressive All India Rank (AIR) of 77. Reflecting on her success, Arohi described the grueling preparation as a deeply emotional and mental journey that requires immense resilience to stay on track.
Throughout her preparation, Arohi faced numerous setbacks, including low scores on practice tests. However, she treated every failure as a learning opportunity rather than letting it discourage her. Her strategy was strictly focused on giving her best performance on the day of the exam rather than chasing a specific rank, which allowed her to manage stress effectively. This singular focus on JEE Advanced meant she never prepared separately for JEE Mains, where she still managed a near-perfect 99.996 percentile.
A crucial pillar of support for Arohi was her family. Following her Class 9 exams, her parents relocated with her to the coaching hub of Kota, Rajasthan, where she enrolled at the ALLEN Career Institute. Both her father, an IT professional, and her mother, an environmental engineer, were able to work from home. This arrangement allowed them to recreate a familiar, comfortable home environment that shielded Arohi from the isolation many outstation students face.
Arohi’s academic track record is stellar across the board, having scored 96.7% in her Class 10 boards and 97.8% in Class 12. Beyond her studies, she balances her life by painting, reading, and listening to music. With her top-tier rank, she now intends to pursue a B.Tech in Computer Science at IIT Bombay, while her family has recently relocated to Hyderabad.
