In a significant move toward smarter and more citizen-friendly water management, Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) and Orange City Water (OCW) have jointly launched the ‘Nagpur Jal Grahak Seva’ mobile app. This modern digital platform enables residents to access nearly all water-related services conveniently through their smartphones.The initiative aims to eliminate the need for citizens to visit zone offices or wait in long queues for billing, complaints, or service requests.
Officials highlight that the app embodies NMC-OCW’s commitment to digital governance, transparency, and swift service delivery.With the app, users can register complaints and track their status in real time. Complaints are routed directly to the concerned Network Engineer, cutting down manual delays and boosting response efficiency. This feature promises a faster, more accountable water grievance redressal system for the city.
The app also provides seamless digital billing and payment options. Consumers can view water bills in PDF format, check payment history, and make instant payments using Net Banking, Debit/Credit Cards, UPI, or mobile wallets. All payment records are stored digitally for easy access.Previously, citizens had to visit local offices for tasks like name corrections, tap size changes, or new connection requests. Now, these services are just a click away on the app, saving valuable time and effort.Users will receive real-time push notifications and SMS alerts for billing, service interruptions, and updates.
Future updates will add live service tracking and personalized consumption dashboards to enhance transparency even further.This launch aligns with Nagpur’s Smart City vision, aiming to create an integrated, citizen-centric water management system.
