The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) and Orange City Water (OCW) have announced a 30-hour water supply shutdown beginning at 10:00 AM on Monday, October 21, 2024. This shutdown is necessary to replace a 40-meter section of an 800mm mild steel (MS) pipeline situated near Ramjhula, close to the Nagpur Railway Station. The existing pipeline, which supplies water to the Sitabuldi Fort-1 Ground Service Reservoir (GSR), has significantly deteriorated and is beyond repair. Currently located within a drainage system and prone to submersion during the rainy season, this pipeline frequently leads to disruptions in water supply. The replacement will involve installing a new segment at a higher elevation, away from drainage water, ensuring a more reliable water supply to the Sitabuldi Fort-1 command area.
