In a landmark initiative promoting inclusion and empowerment, Deutsche Bank, in partnership with GAURAV, a non-profit Community-Based Organisation (CBO), launched The Trans Cafe near City Vista in Kharadi, Pune, on October 3.As part of Deutsche Bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) education programme, this cafe is designed to provide transgender individuals with a safe and supportive space to develop vocational and leadership skills.
The initiative aims to enhance their employability while fostering a sense of community and belonging.Beyond skill-building, The Trans Cafe will offer meaningful employment opportunities for transgender persons, contribute to the local economy, and serve meals to underserved communities—embedding itself within Pune’s social and economic landscape.Ruchi Khemka, Head of CSR at Deutsche Bank Group India, expressed pride in supporting the project: “The Trans Cafe exemplifies how partnerships can create social change by uplifting marginalised communities and fostering inclusive opportunities.
