Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has confirmed that it is in contact with an employee who was recently seen sleeping outside its Pune office as a form of protest. Photos of the employee, Sourabh More, resting on a sidewalk circulated widely on social media earlier this week, drawing public attention.More claimed that TCS had withheld his salary for several months. Alongside him on the sidewalk was a handwritten letter stating, “I have informed HR I don’t have money and will be forced to sleep and live outside TCS on footpath.”
Employee’s Claims
Sourabh More, who works at TCS’s Pune location, alleged that the company had not paid his salary despite his efforts to resolve the issue. He stated in his letter that he returned to the office at Sahyadri Park Pune on July 29, 2025, but found his ID deactivated on TCS’s internal system, Ultimatix.More also mentioned that although he met with the human resources department and was assured that his salary would be released, the payment had not been made.
TCS’s Official Statement
In response to the allegations, TCS informed HT.com that the employee’s payroll was suspended due to unauthorized absence from work, following the company’s standard protocols.“This is a case of unauthorized absence where the employee has been absent from the office. In accordance with standard procedure, payroll was suspended during this period. The employee has now reported back and requested reinstatement. We have provided him accommodation for now and are supporting him in addressing his situation in a fair and constructive manner,” a TCS spokesperson said.The company also confirmed that Sourabh More is no longer camping outside the office and is being supported as the matter is resolved.
