Peeping Tom at Nagpur University Festival: Art Teacher Arrested for Filming Women in Toilets

Outrage in Nagpur: Teacher Caught Recording Explicit Videos in University Restrooms

Nagpur, Maharashtra: A festive celebration at Nagpur University turned into a scene of outrage and horror after a male suspect was apprehended for allegedly filming women in the university’s restrooms. The accused, Mangesh Vinayak Khapare (37), an art teacher at a local school, was present at the festival assisting with decorations, adding a chilling layer to the already disturbing incident.

The industrial festival, held at the Jamnalal Bajaj administrative building from January 27th to 29th, drew participants from across the country and abroad. However, the revelry was shattered when a 32-year-old female volunteer noticed Mangesh surreptitiously filming inside the women’s restroom with his mobile phone.

Alerted by the victim’s outcry, other volunteers apprehended Mangesh, but he initially managed to flee. Undeterred, the victim informed authorities, and CCTV footage confirmed Mangesh’s presence in the area shortly before the incident. With swift action, university security and police apprehended the suspect, facing a wave of anger and frustration from enraged bystanders.

A subsequent investigation revealed a trove of disturbing evidence. Mangesh’s phone contained approximately 19 explicit videos, adding to the severity of the crime. While some videos were deleted in a likely attempt to cover his tracks, authorities are currently employing data recovery techniques to ensure comprehensive evidence and deliver justice to the victims.

The news of the “Bathroom Video Scandal,” as it is being called, has sent shockwaves through the university community and the city of Nagpur. The brazenness of the crime within a supposedly secure educational institution has raised concerns about safety and privacy, particularly for women.

University officials have condemned the incident in the strongest terms, pledging full cooperation with the ongoing police investigation. Meanwhile, demands for stringent action against Mangesh are rising, with calls for stricter security measures and heightened vigilance within university premises gaining momentum.

The “Bathroom Video Scandal” serves as a stark reminder of the vulnerability individuals face even in seemingly safe spaces. The swift action taken by the victim and authorities offers a glimmer of hope for justice, but the incident underscores the need for continued vigilance and robust security measures to prevent such heinous acts from occurring again.
