A “Democracy Day” event is scheduled for March 3, 2025, at the Punjabrao Deshmukh Standing Committee Hall in the Municipal Corporation headquarters. This initiative aims to address the grievances, challenges, and concerns of the general public. Following a decision by the Maharashtra Government on December 30, 1999, the first Monday of every month has been designated as “Democracy Day” to facilitate the resolution of public complaints.During this event, citizens will have the opportunity to submit their complaints in writing, which will be addressed within the following month.
This initiative is part of a broader effort to ensure that community issues are resolved efficiently and transparently. In alignment with the directives from the Divisional Commissioner of the Nagpur Division, any complaints received during the Divisional Democracy Day will also be addressed during the Municipal Corporation’s Democracy Day. This creates a valuable platform for citizens to voice their concerns and seek timely resolutions. The event will commence at 10:00 AM on March 3, 2025, and it is expected that all department heads and senior municipal commissioners from zones 1 to 10 will be in attendance.
Municipal Commissioner Dr. Abhijit Chaudhary has communicated these instructions through the General Administration Department to ensure the event runs smoothly.Citizens are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to bring their issues to light and pursue effective solutions. Democracy Day serves as a vital forum for fostering communication between the public and municipal authorities, ultimately enhancing community engagement and governance. Make sure to mark your calendars and participate in this important event!
