Nagpur City Police Strengthen Measures Against Traffic and Legal Violations

On July 31, 2024, the Nagpur City Police undertook a series of operations aimed at addressing violations of various key laws.In compliance with the Maharashtra Prohibition Act, the police registered 12 cases, along with 5 additional cases under the NDPS Act. A total of 17 individuals were implicated in these cases, and goods worth ₹2,05,745 were seized. The police emphasized their commitment to combating illegal activities and ensuring that the community remains safe from the dangers associated with substance abuse.In a separate initiative targeting gambling activities, the police filed 4 cases against 5 individuals, confiscating items valued at ₹8,830.
This operation is part of a broader strategy to tackle illegal gambling, which can often lead to other criminal activities and negatively impact public safety.The Traffic Branch also launched a significant crackdown on traffic violations, taking action against 2,030 vehicle drivers. This effort resulted in the collection of ₹3,41,650 in fines under various sections of the Motor Vehicle Act. The police have reiterated the importance of adhering to traffic rules, highlighting that such violations not only endanger the lives of drivers but also put pedestrians and other road users at risk.
These operations reflect a coordinated effort by the Nagpur City Police to enforce laws and uphold public order. Authorities have indicated that such initiatives will continue to be executed diligently, with plans for regular inspections and operations across the city.
