Commuters travelling from Nagpur to Chandrapur and Wardha can now experience faster and more comfortable journeys. The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) has officially launched a new fleet of electric, air-conditioned, non-stop, and conductorless ‘e-Shivai’ buses on these two high-frequency corridors. By eliminating intermediate stops and onboard conductor duties, the transport corporation aims to significantly reduce travel times and deliver a seamless transit experience.
The expanded service schedule promises robust daily connectivity across both routes. On the Nagpur-Chandrapur corridor, MSRTC will operate 26 departures daily from each end, bringing the total to 52 trips per day. Buses leaving Nagpur will run between 6:30 AM and 7:45 PM, while returning services from Chandrapur will operate from 6:15 AM to 7:00 PM. Meanwhile, the Nagpur-Wardha route will feature 16 daily trips in each direction—totaling 32 daily services—operating within a set window of 7:15 AM to 6:15 PM from both sides.
Despite being upgraded 12-metre air-conditioned electric vehicles, these new e-Shivai buses will continue to honor all standard MSRTC fare concessions. Eligible passengers can claim full benefits under various state welfare programs, including the Senior Citizen scheme, the Amrut Senior Citizen scheme, and the Mahila Samman Yojana, alongside other corporate concessions.
MSRTC’s Nagpur Division has actively encouraged local passengers and daily commuters to take advantage of these upgraded modern amenities. The introduction of these direct e-Shivai services marks a significant step forward in modernizing Maharashtra’s public road transport infrastructure, offering passengers a greener, quicker, and more reliable alternative for intercity travel.
