IndiGo Chaos at Pune Airport: Flights Delayed; Passengers Trapped Inside Aircraft for Hours

IndiGo flight delays persisted on Thursday morning at Pune airport, leaving hundreds of passengers stranded and frustrated. A shortage of available parking bays (aerobridges) caused prolonged wait times, forcing flyers to remain seated inside planes for hours after landing. The disruption also impacted flights operated by other airlines.Passenger Sumit Kadam shared his ordeal, saying his flight from Goa touched down at 5:30 AM but passengers were confined to the aircraft until 8:30 AM. “The cabin crew informed us that no parking bays were available. It was a terrible situation, and we just had to wait inside the plane,” he told TOI.

Similarly, Megh Gandhi, who flew in from Ahmedabad, described confusion and delay. “Our flight landed around 4:30 AM, but the captain said he had no idea when deboarding would begin. Even the Air Traffic Control wasn’t providing clear information. We finally disembarked at about 7:45 AM,” he said.Pune airport has a total of 10 aerobridges, but the high volume of delayed flights overwhelmed the facility. A passenger scheduled to fly to Kolkata early morning said, “My flight was supposed to depart at 5 AM. I arrived at the airport at 1 AM, but there’s no information on the takeoff.

Hundreds of passengers are stuck without clarity.”Another passenger arriving from Bangkok on an IndiGo flight around 5:30 AM confirmed they were only able to deboard by 8 AM. Umesh Gogate, who landed on an Air India Express flight, tweeted that passengers had been waiting inside the aircraft for over two hours due to the lack of parking bays.Official responses from IndiGo and Pune airport authorities are still awaited. Meanwhile, the cascading delays from IndiGo flights are now affecting other airlines’ schedules as well.
