A case has been registered against several employees of Hexaware Technologies Limited, based in MIHAN, for allegedly orchestrating a fraudulent refund scam that resulted in a loss exceeding ₹4.83 crore to the company. The complaint was lodged by Arvind Vinod Malgund, a 41-year-old General Manager residing on Jayanti Nagari, Besa-Pipla Road.The scam was uncovered during a routine audit conducted by the company’s quality team, which identified irregularities in the refund process.
According to company policy, refunds are issued only after verifying returned goods from customers. However, the investigation revealed that between December 2023 and February 2025, the accused employees circumvented this protocol by creating fake customer accounts and issuing refunds without any actual product returns.The individuals implicated in this scheme have been identified as:
- Jayant Sameer Das (NIT Colony, Nara Road, Jaripatka)
- Aditya Vasant Dongre (Model Mill Chowk, Ganeshpeth)
- Piyush Yogesh Sodari (Bhagyashree Layout, Trimurti Nagar)
- Mukesh Kumar (Baraipura, Maskasath)
- Pawan Prahlad Chachane (Snehdeep Colony)
- Ajikya Pradeep Meshram (Gopal Nagar, Third Bus Stop)
- Surendra Hariram Agase (Mahatma Phule Nagar, Somalwada)
According to police sources, the employees exploited their access to the internal system to generate fraudulent refund transactions, embezzling a total of ₹4,83,30,168. They reportedly submitted fake entries indicating that customers had returned goods, although no such returns actually took place.A case has been registered under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including 316(4), 318(4), 344, and 3(5), as well as under Sections 66(C) and 66(D) of the Information Technology Act. The investigation continues as authorities seek to hold the responsible parties accountable for their actions.
