Fire Breaks Out at Pune Metro Station in Mandai; No Injuries Reported

A fire broke out in the basement of the Pune Metro Station at Mandai during the early hours of Monday, although fortunately, no casualties were reported, according to the Pune Fire Brigade.The fire brigade control room received an emergency call around 12 AM regarding the incident at the Pune Metro Station, which is located in Mandai, a prominent vegetable market in the city’s center. Responding quickly to the situation, multiple fire brigade teams were dispatched to the scene with five fire tenders and several water tankers. Upon arrival, firefighters discovered that a foam material had ignited, resulting in significant smoke and flames within the basement area.

The intensity of the fire prompted immediate action from the fire brigade teams, who utilized specialized firefighting equipment and breathing apparatus to combat the blaze effectively. Thanks to their swift response, the fire was extinguished, and the situation was brought under control without any reported injuries. Fire Brigade officials are currently investigating the cause of the fire and have indicated that it may have been sparked by welding work taking place in the vicinity.
