Dream Job Mirage? ‘My College Khoj’ Office Raided in Alleged Student Scam

Pune, India – February 3, 2024: The Pune Economic Offences Wing (EOW) cracked down on a suspected student scam on Friday, raiding an office linked to the ‘My College Khoj’ scheme within Viman Nagar’s Phoenix Mall. The operation unearthed forged documents and stamps, raising concerns about the scheme’s legitimacy.

False Promises, Empty Pockets: Investigations suggest a couple orchestrated the alleged scam, luring students with the promise of lucrative overseas jobs. They extracted substantial sums of money before vanishing, leaving victims with nothing but false hopes.

Raided, but Couple Missing: During the raid, the couple was nowhere to be found. However, the EOW apprehended the office manager and another staff member for questioning. Deputy Commissioner of Police (EOW) Vikrant Deshmukh stated, “They lured students with fabricated job offers, extracting money through false promises.”

Seeking Justice: Five students have already filed complaints against the couple, fueling the ongoing investigation. The Vimantal Police Station is meticulously scouring evidence and tracing the missing couple.
